When and where you were born? March 13, 1977 in Inglewood, California. Who did you grow up with? The first five years of my life I lived with my biological mother. Afterward I came to live with my father and stepmother, who definitely put an end to the myth that stepparents are mean and evil creations. I love her this much (open your arms really wide). My two older sisters and older brother beat me by a mile as far as age so I basically was a lone and crazy child! What are you afraid of? I am afraid of not accomplishing all that God has set forth for me to do before it is time to pass on to the next life. What is your favorite food? No exotic answers here my friend! I've got one word for you... cheesecake, cheesecake, cheesecake. Okay, so that was three words, but you get my point. What is your advice to young people today? Learn that where you are is where you are supposed to be right now. The tragedy is not being in a bad situation, but tragedy lies in not being vigilant and learning from it. Just as important is applying that wisdom to future situations. Always keep a watchful eye.
God has equipped me with an immense amount of determination. I realize that those that succeed are not necessarily the smartest, or the "best." Many times they were a lot more determined than the rest. God has steered me in directions that I did not even want to go in, and for this I am grateful. What kind of student were you? I was an A- student in high school. However when I came to college and got my first term report, I realized that holding down a job and trying to go to school did not flow as easily in the real world as it did off of my tongue. I suddenly had to remove the "S" off of my chest, humble myself and find out what time management was all about. What was a challenging or cool job you've done? I used to be an intern for public access television in Los Angeles. I was a part of a team of youngsters that was responsible for making PSAs (Public Service Announcements) about not smoking, staying in school, etc. We also got to edit television shows and the local newscast. It was an exciting job for a 15-year-old! What are you good at? I am good at being a friend. I value friendship and wish that more people did. You definitely won't see me on Jerry Springer. What are you not so good at? I am not so good at listening to people lecture. Whether it's at church or in the classroom, people who tend to go off the topic frequently lose me momentarily. A bubble appears over my head that says "Hmmm, chicken or fish tonight, and are those shoes clean enough to wear outside?" |
